GGI Intern Training: Summer 2012

Our Vision: The GGI Intern Program is a new “brain smart / mind awake” training program designed to tap the big talent of young creatives, activitists and citizen scientists and use it for the public good.

What We DoGGI Interns a.k.a. “Neuronauts” design mobile collaboratoriums for K-12 schools to explore the wonders and core concepts of neuroscience with the help of design thinking! By uniting art & science in a “brain awareness” project, our Neuronauts ease the way for children (and teachers) to skill build in other academic and talent domains, e.g., science, math, mindfulness/attention management, etc.

Let’s just say we’re big on putting S.T.E.A.M. into S.T.E.M.!

Our Training Program includes:

The program is a 14 week online and on-site training program, grounded in a team building and “brain smart / mind awake” coaching pedagogy:

Brain/Mind Theory of Self and Creativity

SITT 1.0: aka Embodied Mindfulness Training

Coaching Practices:  Rhetoric and Protocol for community outreach

Opportunities to work in school settings, design content and assist in research initiatives!

Who is Eligible: GGI Internships are available to college students around the U.S.  Students interested in internships typically come with a mission to learn more about using art/sci in the context of education and in business.  At present we offering internships to students working in urban centers in the U.S.  Please note:  Bi-lingual skills are a plus (Spanish / English;  Mandarin / English).  College Credit received.

This program is ideal for: Those grads, undergrads & post-grads who are passionate holistic, arts & science education and ready to lead change by design!

Benefits of program: Our interns have gone on to jobs and other organizations that create educational materials for mindful education, science and art education.
